Design Concept of Tranquillo:

The tower CPU Cooler “Rev. 2 Tranquillo” uses 4 power heat pipes and a special heat pipe constellation to achieve best heat transfer from CPU core to the aluminum fins in its class.

 

 

New of Rev. 2 Tranquillo:

The heat pipe constellation was optimized to prevent any conflict from the components on latest mainboards in the market. Additionally the shape of the small heat sink was optimized for a better heat transfer.

 

 

The clip for the AMD socket was modified to enable to install the cooler in 4×90° directions

 

 

 

 

 

After precise software simulation and calculation during the development stage a unique heat sink shape was created to lower air flow resistance as much as possible.

 

A silent 120mm fan with the intelligent GELID PWM (Pulse Width Module) control has been chosen to make this heat sink more valuable. The fan blades were optimised to guarantee high airflow while running silently. The intelligent GELID PWM curve keeps the fan silent when no necessary cooling is needed and  accelerates the fan speed whenever additional cooling is needed. The multi-award winning high performance GC-2 thermal compound is already included in the package.

Additionally mounting clips for AMD AM2/ AM2+ and for Intel 775, 1366, 1155 and latest 1156 sockets as same as back plates for Intel LGA 775, Core i5 and Core i7 boards are all included.

"lega el momento de las conclusiones, la verdad que no esperábamos mucho de un disipador que solo permitiera acoplarle un ventilador, pero este Gelid Tranquillo nos ha sorprendido gratamente. Ha sido capaz de darnos unas buenísimas temperaturas en el banco de pruebas, ha rebajado la temperatura en full load en un 30% con respecto al disipador de referencia. A parte de del resultado a un disipador también se le puede pedir facilidad de montaje y apariencia, en los dos aspectos sale con buena puntuación. En su montaje fue fácil de colocar, los tornillos de sujeción eran de cómodo acceso, nada de hacer malabarismos para poder acoplarlo a la placa. En cuanto a la parte de la apariencia física, tiene un diseño realmente atractivo, con un solo ventilador Gelid ha sido capaz de darle un pinta realmente buena, ayuda, por eso, los materiales de gran calidad utilizados, así como los acabados. Las laminas han sido grabadas adquiriendo una textura agradable a la vista y que hace ver que se han cuidado los detalles, hubiera valido con unas laminas y ya esta, pero han querido darle un plus al diseño que le hace mas bonito. No se le puede pedir mucho mas a un disipador, que refrigere bien, que sea “chulo” y fácil de colocar, pues este Gelid Tranquillo Rev.2 cumple perfectamente los tres requisitos."

"Over de Zalman CNPS7X LED kunnen we heel kort zijn; voor hetzelfde geld koop je veel betere koelers. De Gelid Tranquilo Rev.2 blijkt echt een uitstekend model: zeer stil en in vergelijk met andere betaalbare CPU-koelers uitstekende koelprestaties. In de efficiëntiegrafieken, waarin we zowel geluidsproductie als koeling meenemen, scoort de koeler bijna net zo goed als de Scythe Mugen 2, die juist om deze combinatie geroemd wordt. Maar wat we niet mogen vergeten: de Mugen 2 kost gemiddeld 45 euro, de Gelid kost gemiddeld nog geen 32 euro! Wij hebben een nieuwe favoriete budgetkoeler gevonden. Wie niet te veel wil uitgeven, maar wel een flink betere CPU-koeler wil dan een boxed exemplaar, doet met de Tranquilo Rev.2 een uitstekende aankoop."

"Well I am not going to lie, I never thought that this cooler would have fared as well as it did against these other coolers. A couple of these coolers are a lot bigger and a lot more impressive looking but the fact remains that the Tranquillo did much better. It is a great cooler and very quiet and I think it would be a great addition to any enthusiast or gamers rig. I remember the first cooler GELID launched and it was not very good comparatively to the coolers around at that time. It did beat a stock cooler but other than that it wasn’t a great flagship for GELID the introduction of the Tranquillo is GELID’s way of absolving themselves once again. Kudos GELID I look forward to seeing what else you have for us in the future."

"I have been using this heatsink for a couple of weeks now and have to admit that I am well pleased with it. I cannot stand a loud, noisy system and the Gelid Tranquillo fits nicely into being a part of a near silent computer. The fan Gelid has included with the cooler does a great job moving air without generating noise or vibration, the banes of silent computing. The cooler itself, while looking similar to many others on the market today, has been designed and tweaked to deliver superior cooling; it does this job well. While it would be possible to gain additional cooling by replacing the original fan with a higher CFM 120mm fan, I am content to use the cooler just as it is. The fact that the fan has a five year warranty also adds to my contentment."
